About us
Global Chess BV is a Company incorporated in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in early 2007. It was set up by Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, President of Kalmykia and FIDE (the World Chess Federation) and Dutch businessman, Bessel Kok with the main objective of promoting and marketing chess worldwide. Global Chess has signed an exclusive commercial licence with FIDE in November 2007.
The Chairman of the Company is Bessel Kok. The Head Office of Global Chess is based in the Max Euwe Centrum in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and it has branch offices also in Moscow and Lausanne.
